TNPSC Group 1 New Syllabus (revised) & Exam Pattern

The TNPSC group 1 examination will be conducted once in two years. The tNPSC group 1 examination will be conducted for the recruitment for the post of various vacancies that comes under group 1 category.

What is TNPSC group 1 examination?
The Tamil Nadu public service commission conducts this group 1 examination to recruit candidates for the post that comes under group 1 category.Some of the posts include Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category-I),Assistant Commissioner (Commercial Taxes),Deputy registrar of co-operative societies,etc,.

TNPSC Group 1 Exam Pattern:
The group on examination will be conducted in three stages 1. preliminary exam 2. main examination 3 .Interview. The preliminary examination will be conducted for 3 hours in which 200 questions will be asked each question carries 1.5 marks so the exam will be conducted for the the total of 300 marks.The minimum qualifying mark in the TNPSC group 1 preliminary examination is 90 marks.
The TNPSC group 1 main exam will be conducted for 3 hours in which it will be conducted for a total of 750 marks out of which you should score a minimum score of 255 to clear the main examination.
If you have cleared both the preliminary and main examination you will be called for interview if your performance was good in the interview you will be selected as a group 1 officer of Tamilnadu Government.

TNPSC Group 1 prelims exam pattern:
In TNPSC group 1 preliminary examination you will be getting 300 questions in which the question will be asked from three subjects 1. general English / general Tamil 2.general studies 3.aptitude and mental ability. You can choose either general Tamil /general English as a language paper. 100 questions will be asked from language paper, 75 questions will be asked from general studies and 25 questions will be asked from aptitude and mental ability topic. The examination will be conducted for 3 hours unlike the main examination to preliminary examination will be conducted as multiple choice exams where you will be given an OMR sheet you have to fill the answer for the questions given.

As we have mentioned already the TNPSC group 1 examination will be conducted in three stages in which the first stage is preliminary examination. this examination will be conducted for 300 marks and it is an objective type examination and not an written examination.only in main examination you will be getting descriptive type papers.

TNPSC Group 1 Mains Exam pattern:
TNPSC group 1 mains examination will be conducted as three papers paper 1, paper 2 and paper 3.The duration of examination is 3 hours,The examination will be conducted for 750 marks in which each paper contains 250 marks. The minimum qualifying mark in TNPSC group 1 mains examination is 255.
