TNPSC Group 2 New Syllabus Revised & Exam Pattern

Hello aspirants welcome to tnpscmaterials.com. Tamil Nadu public service commission conducts TNPSC group 2 exam also known as combined civil services examination-II to recruit candidates for various post that comes under group 2 category.

The commission conducts group 2 exam every year in general group 2 and 2A examination will be conducted as a single examination but the only difference between group 2 and 2A is for group 2 posts the candidate has to attend the interview for group 2A post there is no interview.In this article we have uploaded the new revised syllabus for group 2 and 2A exams recently TNPSC has changed the syllabus and exam pattern for TNPSC group 2 and 2A exams so we request you to understand the syllabus and exam pattern and study well for your examination.

TNPSC group 2 exam pattern:

As we have mentioned earlier the TNPSC group 2 examination will be conducted in three stages 1.preliminary examination 2.main examination 3. interview.

The preliminary examination will have 200 questions out of which each question carries 1.5 marks, the duration of the exam will be 3 hours the minimum qualifying marks in TNPSC group 2 preliminary examination is 90 marks. Then the TNPSC group 2 main examination will be conducted as two papers paper 1 will be conducted for 1 hour 30 minutes the paper 1 exam will be conducted for 100 marks the minimum qualifying marks in paper 1 is 25 marks inTNPSC group 2 mains paper 2 will be conducted for 3 hours, the maximum mark is 300 the minimum qualifying mark for group 2 is 102 out of 340 and the minimum qualifying mark for group 2A is 90 out of 300

The main important update from the Tamil Nadu public service commission is if you clear the paper 1 of main examination then only your paper 2 will be considered for evaluation else you will be marked as rejected so please try to concentrate more on paper 1 as well as paper 2 to in the TNPSC group 2 main examination.

TNPSC group 2 prelims new exam pattern:(Revised)

The preliminary examination will be conducted for 300 marks in which the duration will be 3 hours aspirants can choose either general English or general Tamil as there language paper for hundred marks and 75 questions will be asked from general studies and 25 questions will be asked from aptitude and mental ability topic in the preliminary exam you will be getting 200 questions out of which each question carries 1.5 marks all questions will be available in both Tamil and English languages minimum qualifying mark for TNPSC group 2 preliminary examination is 90 out of 300.

TNPSC group 2 mains exam pattern

Unlike the TNPSC group 2 preliminary examination the main paper will be of descriptive type, that is no multiple choice questions will be present you have to write answer for the questions. The TNPSC group 2 main examination comprises of two papers paper 1 and paper 2 paper 1 has 2 questions from Tamil to English translation and English to Tamil translation. also in part 2 you will be having 10 questions from precis writing, comprehension, skills development, essay writing on thirukkural,letter writing and knowledge in Tamil language.

One thing you need to keep in mind is only if you clear the paper 1 in TNPSC group 2 examination then only your paper 2 will be e considered for or evaluation also so only e the marks scored in the paper 2 will be e considered for your valuation the paper 1 is is only an eligibility test and it’s marks will not be considered in the merit list.
