What is TNPSC Group 1 Examination?

In General TNPSC stands for TAMIL NADU PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION. is a commission which conducts examination to fill the vacancies of the Departments that runs under Government of Tamil Nadu.They do the whole process of conducting the examinations to selecting the right candidate.TNPSC Group 1 Examination will be conducted in Three stages

1.Preliminary Examination (Prelims)

2.Main Examination (mains)

3.Interview.

The candidate must clear each round to attend the next stages of examination.This examination will be conducted once in every two year.

TNPSC Group 1 Exam Date:

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has conducted examination on the date 05.04.2020 after that due to COVID -19, the commission didn’t released any notification about TNPSC Group 1 till now. But the commission has said that they will soon announce the updates about the examination.

TNPSC Group 1 Posts included:

In general Those who cleared TNPSC Group 1 examination they will be posted in Sub collector cadre of various departments.The name of the posts may vary according to the Departments.Some of the posts you will be working they are,

• Deputy Collector

• Deputy Superintendent of Police(Category-I)

• Assistant Commissioner(C.T)

• Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies

• District Registrar

• Assistant Director of Rural Development

• District Employment Officer

• District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services)

TNPSC Group 1 Age limit:

TNPSC has some age limitations for peoples who are writing Group 1 examinations. In general the minimum age to attend TNPSC group 1 should be 21 Years(should have completed) and maximum age limit to attend tnpsc group 1 examination should be 32 Years (should not be completed).So if you are coming under this age group.I know maximum of you come under this age group. you can start preparing for TNPSC Group 1 immediately.

If you are coming under the category of SC’s,ST’s,SCA’s,MBC’s,BC’s,BCM’s and DW’s then you have an additional benefit while writing TNPSC Group 1 is those people coming under this category can have a maximum age limit of 37 Years (should not have completed). are eligible to write TNPSC Group 1 Examination.

For differently abled person age concession will be provided upto 10 years from the maximum age limit prescribed above.

TNPSC Group 1 Eligibility:

In general those who have completed any degree are eligible to write TNPSC Group 1.But first preference will be given to candidates for some particular posts.So candidates can refer to the notification to know more about the preferences.

The candidate’s degree should be of any universities incorporated by an act of central or state legislature in India or any other educational institutions established by an act of parliment or declared to be deemed as an university under section 3 of the university grants commission act 1956

Physical Qualification:

Candidates who are willing to write TNPSC Group 1, Their minimum height should not be less than 165 cms and the wight should be 50 kgs for men, Chest (Full Inspiration) – 89 cms Minimum Chest (Normal) – 84 cms Minimum Chest Expansion – 5 cms

Women Minimum Height – 155 cms For women and there is no minimum weight required for women.

TNPSC Exam Date 2020:

Recently TNPSC Group 1 was conducted on 05.04.2020 after that due to covid -19 TNPSC didn’t conducted any examination in the year 2021 but soon we can expect notification from tnpsc about examinations in the year 2022.

TNPSC Group 1 Salary:

The salary for the posts which comes under Group 1 category ranges from RS.56100 to RS.177500. It comes under level 22 in level of pay.

The TNPSC Group 1 Preliminary Examination (prelims) will be conducted for 300 marks in which each question carries 1.5 marks. Totally 200 questions will be asked in which marks will be calculated for 300 with 1.5 marks each.The General studies questions that comes under degree standard will be asked for 175 marks and aptitude and mental ability questions will be asked for 25 marks.To download TNPSC Group 1 syllabus for general studies and mental ability click here.

Those who cleared preliminary examination successfully will be called to attend main examination and oral type and the main thing you need to know while preparing for group 1 main examination is the main examination is descriptive type ie.,you need to write the answer for questions as theory not the preliminary examination method where we choose one correct answer form the options.

How to apply for TNPSC Group 1:

The candidates who want to apply for TNPSC Group 1 Examination should apply only through online mode in the TAMIL NADU PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION’S websites. The websites are www.tnpsc.gov.in /www.tnpscexams.net / www.tnpscexams.in

The One Time Registration (OTR) must be done by the candidate before applying to any examination from TNPSC.The one time registration in TNPSC is valid for 5 years from the date of registration.
If you have done the one time registration you can directly go to TNPSC Website and apply.
